| Texas Proud began as a small company with great dreams and with hard work it has become one of the premier custom Harley Davidson shops in the area. Texas Proud got it's start in 2001 in Killeen, Texas and did many great things that first year. Throughout the years, Texas Proud has stuck to the idea that a knowledgeable customer is the best kind of customer. That is why they have always had very loyal customer base. |
Wayne Whisenhunt is the heartbeat of this great business. Texas Proud would not be Texas Proud without him. He has invested many sleepless nights thinking of the next great custom bike. His beginnings are ones of a continuing legacy. His mentor, teacher and friend the late Ron Hall is still a great part of his drive to succeed. Wayne has spent his entire life tinkering on, racing and fabricating great motorcycles. In 2001 he broke the record for the Texas Scooter Party Drags time in the 8th mile. He has been in the motorcycle business for the last thirty years starting at Killeen Harley Davidson in 1980. He is continuing to expand his knowledge and craftsmanship to this day. Wayne has been featured in many motorcycle magazines over the years. One of those was a feature bike in Hot Bike magazine in July of 2001 titled the Gecko bike. |
| Texas Proud has survived the last seven years fighting tooth and nail to be the best custom Harley shop in town. They continue to stay open in the harsh and ever-unstable motorcycle market by always putting their customers first. When the business began no one ever thought that it would be where it is today. There are many things in the works to keep the business expanding. With one of a kind custom built motorcycles and an appreciation for their customers they will keep expanding. With such a great talent at the fore front of this business there is no question that they will succeed. Many new and upcoming things that Texas Proud is beginning to delve into are the booming internet market and the custom metric market. | |

Wayne has taken on a new partner to help move the company to the next level. Lonny Gordon, who retired as a Sergeant Major, right here at Fort Hood, will be taking over the business and marketing side of the company expanding the advertisement and events portions, to improve Texas Proud's notoriety and increase motorcycle awareness and safety within the community. |
| Even though the business today is focused on the American market, two wheels are two wheels. Texas Proud has never turned down an opportunity to create a great custom bike. Just because it isn't American doesn't mean that it isn't worth trying. |
